The Great Debate: ADAM vs. EVE
Most people like to place ALL blame on Eve, and NONE on Adam, for their outster
from the Garden of Eden in
the Old Testament Bible. (Book of Genesis)
Here are some
things to think about:
·
GOD created Adam out of His OWN
image. (1:27)
·
GOD formed man, Adam, out the dust
of the ground. (2:7)
·
ADAM spent time alone with God. (2:8-20)
·
GOD gave Adam the direct mandate
of not eating from the Tree of Life. (2:16-17)
·
GOD allowed ADAM to name all of the
animals on the earth. Which means...he named the serpent. Maybe he could have warned the woman to be wary of him? (2:19-20)
·
GOD created woman because He said.
“It is not good for man to be alone,” and that ADAM needed a "help meet.” (2:18, 21)
·
Woman was created from Adam’s rib. (2:22)
·
When the serpent challenged the woman on
what God had commanded, she should have conferred with Adam. (3:1-6)
·
When the woman was deceived by the serpent
and offered Adam the fruit to eat, he could have said “NO.” Instead, he blamed her for his
disobedience. (3:12)
· The woman blamed the serpent for her being
deceived. (3:13)
·
ADAM is the one who named woman EVE.
(3:20)
·
ADAM could have asked GOD to pull
out another rib…because this one isn’t working out. (3:17) J
Bottom-line: They were ALL wrong…the serpent, EVE and
ADAM!
ALL had to suffer the consequences for their actions. (3:16-19)
It’s almost like blaming Peyton Manning for the
Denver Bronco’s loss to the Seattle SeaHawks during the 2014 Super Bowl. Peyton isn’t the only one who failed. The
entire offensive line failed; the entire defensive line failed; the special
teams failed; the coaching staff failed; team management failed. There is enough blame to go around…
So, you may want to pause…and think
twice…before laying ALL of the blame on EVE. IJS (I’m Just Saying ) … J
