"EXERCISES" to Avoid & to Embrace...

Society has bombarded us with the need to work out and exercise our physical bodies. However, we neglect exercising ourselves "spiritually."

Oftentimes, we get so exhausted by thinking, saying, and doing things that do not serve us well. We often exert energy and resources that are of no benefit to ourselves, to others, or to GOD.

Here are a few "Exercises" to AVOID:
JUMPING to conclusions
RUNNING our mouths
STRETCHING the truth
BENDING the rules & our backs for people who don’t care
BREAKING our necks to be liked or to please others
STEPPING on others toes
STOMPING on others’ feelings
KICKING someone when they are down
SITTING on the sidelines
BEATING yourself up with negative “self-talk” & for lack of perfection
THROWING unfair “punches” at others and yourself
SWEATING the small stuff
FALLING short of reaching your goals & quitting
SWIMMING in debt & despair
PUSHING aside signals our bodies give us
LIFTING WEIGHTS of guilt & resentment
SITTING on your excuses & best intentions
SKIPPING meals & important time with your children & loved ones

Our time, energy, peace-of-mind, and resources may be better spent if we redirected our minds toward better options.

New "Exercises" to EMBRACE:
REACHING for the stars and our dreams
STEPPING out on faith
SQUASHING out lies & gossip
STANDING on the promises of GOD
WORKING OUT your soul salvation - Revelations 20:13 (NKJV)
TONING your words, emotions, & attitude
LEANING on the “everlasting arms”
RUNNING “with endurance the race that is set before us”- I Cor. 9:24 (NKJV)
LIFTING your spirits & mood
SHAKING OFF criticism and negativity
CHANGING your attitude
BUILDING “your hopes on things eternal”
BOOSTING your energy toward serving others
SHARPENING your saw (by reading, studying God’s word, & constantly learning)
TRAINING yourself to be “swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath” James 1:10 (NKJV)
EXERCISING discipline & commitment
INHALING clean air & peace
EXHALING stress, worry, & fear
MEDITATING on the word of God (The Bible)

A Few Motivational Thoughts Include:
“Change the way you think and the way you think will change.” – Wayne Dyer
“Don’t be upset by the results you didn’t get with the work you didn’t do.”
“Have your ever pushed yourself to your limit? Then how do you know that you have one?”

Let's all develop, embrace, and commit to an "enhanced" daily workout routine. In the mantra from Nike: "Just Do It!" J
