“Life is but a Dream…”
 We all grew up on this children’s nursery rhyme:
“Row – Row – Row your boat...
“Gently down the stream
“Merrily – Merrily – Merrily – Merrily…
“Life is But A Dream...”
 Wow...If only that was true.
As I mature and grow in wisdom, I am learning that life can be as serene or as messy as we allow it to be.
We are challenged to evaluate the way we see the world and ourselves. It will force you to ask if “your way of thinking” is accurate.
Sometimes, we believe we are wiser than God. He clarifies this in Isaiah 55:8-10 (NKJV): ‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,’ says the Lord. ‘For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.’
Life can be merry or dreadful…depending how you choose to view it.
Wayne Dyer says,“When you change the way you see things, the way you see things change.”
Unfortunately, life is not a “dream.”
It can be happy and joyful one moment, and unpredictable, scary, and painful the next.
It is reality…and we’d best wake up and understand this. It also moves by so rapidly that, within what appears like ‘the blink of an eye," we are faced with the realization that years, even decades, have passed us by. We must live our lives…not in the past or in the future…but here & now, this very moment, in the PRESENT.
I often “remix” this nursery rhyme to say:
“While you are row-row-rowing your boat;
Gently down the stream…
Enjoy every moment you are blessed to have;
Live wide awaken…not in a dream…” J
